Caring for the Community
AsiaWorld-Expo is proud to be a proactive member of the community and engages in a wide range of initiatives to support local activities, provide job opportunities, and provide assistance to vulnerable members of society. Since 2007, AsiaWorld-Expo has been recognised as a “Caring Company” . In 2009, it also received an Outstanding Partnership Project Award, the highest honour of its kind, in recognition of its pioneering community work. This dedication to community support is expressed in three key ways: understanding community needs, identifying community partners, and building mutually sustainable relationships.
Fund Raising and Sponsorship
AsiaWorld-Expo actively supports and participates in a wide range of fund-raising activities.
Artistes 88 Fund Raising Campaign
In August 2009, The Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild held the Artistes 88 Fund Raising Campaign at AsiaWorld-Arena to support relief and rehabilitation work in Taiwan following the catastrophic flooding of Typhoon Morakot. AsiaWorld-Expo sponsored the venue (AsiaWorld-Arena), all transportation and technical support.
Job and Training Opportunities
In March 2010, AsiaWorld-Expo collaborated with the Islands District Office,Home Affairs Department, and co-organisers Hong Kong Outlying Islands Women’s Association, NAAC Tung Chung Integrated Services Centre, Sheng Kung Hui Tung Chung Integrated Services and YMCA of Hong Kong to hold the Tung Chung Job Fair 2010. Together with one of its shareholder Dragages Hong Kong Limited, AsiaWorld-Expo offered over 350 full-time, part-time and temporary posts to local job seekers in the Tung Chung community, including security personnel, F&B and kitchen staff, cleaners, construction professionals, engineers and others. This was the second job fair supported by AsiaWorld-Expo since 2009.

To help the unemployed and ex-offenders reintegrate into the society and to enhance their self-esteem, AsiaWorld-Expo launched the Multi-dimensional Event Services Programme in association with Bright Services, a Social Enterprise of the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong (SRACP) in 2008 to continuously offer training and placement opportunities in porterage and event technical support services. In its first year, the programme generated 537 training opportunities, 528 temporary jobs and 8 permanent jobs.
Caring Programmes
In July 2010, AsiaWorld-Expo partnered with Heifer International – Hong Kong in recruiting over 200 children aged 6 to 12 as “Animal Caring Child Ambassadors” to join the “Happy Farm@AsiaWorld-Expo” for free through the ‘Happy Farm Goat-naming Contest’. The children Ambassadors got a close-up experience of petting animals and it served also an opportunity for children to show their care. The 4 goats for donation to the impoverished family in Mainland China were even named by the winners of the naming contest.
As a continuous commitment, AsiaWorld-Expo collaborated with various local organisations since 2010 to distribute the Lunar New Year rice cakes to the seniors in Tung Chung, West New Territories and other districts, signifying AsiaWorld-Expo's caring of the people in need during the festive season.

In December 2009, AsiaWorld-Expo welcomed over 1,200 seniors living in the Islands district to a banquet organised by the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong (DAB) that celebrated the role of the elderly in the society.

AsiaWorld-Expo was likewise proud to join the Hong Kong Access Guide for Visitors with Disabilities 2009. This important project was designed to help overseas visitors with disabilities or mobility difficulties to travel independently in Hong Kong.
