“One Fair, Two Venues” Concept brings The World’s No. 1 Fine Jewellery Event to Hong Kong again

Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair opens at AsiaWorld-Expo today

Organised by UBM Asia, the September Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair officially opens at AsiaWorld-Expo today. Building on the success of the “One Fair, Two Venues” concept and product sectorisation arrangement, the Fair is concurrently held at AsiaWorld-Expo (14-18 September 2010) and Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (16-20 September 2010) again with a bigger than ever edition of over 3,200 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions, up 5% over last year.

On the first show day, the Fair attracts an overwhelming number of regional and international buyers at AsiaWorld-Expo, even more than last year. This not only confirms that the “One Fair, Two Venues” concept has generated very favourable responses from exhibitors and buyers, but also is the ideal solution for other mega fairs looking to expand further. This successful “One Fair, Two Venues” model is playing a critical role in making Hong Kong a world-renowned Trade Fair Capital.

The “One Fair, Two Venues” model of the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair has welcomed an overwhelming number of top-quality and professional exhibitors and buyers from all over the world. This year, even after an 8% increase in booth numbers at AsiaWorld-Expo to meet the overwhelming demands, all 2,500 booths had sold out first by this May.

AsiaWorld-Expo is uniquely positioned to capitalise on the rapid economic growth of China’s Pearl River Delta (PRD) region. Following completion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and other cross-boundary infrastructural facilities, AsiaWorld-Expo will be seamlessly integrated with the PRD economy, providing a dramatically enlarged catchment area of over 100 million people. UBM Asia, the organiser of the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair remarks that AsiaWorld-Expo, strategically located at the gateway to the PRD region and integrated with an in-venue Airport Express train station, offers superb connectivity to urban areas and across the territory. The venue is welcomed by local and overseas exhibitors and buyers. That’s why they now plan to further expand next year’s show at AsiaWorld-Expo by taking an additional hall.
