Oasis to Rock AsiaWorld-Expo

AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong’s newest and largest exhibition and entertainment centre, welcomes Oasis, one of UK’s hottest rock n’ roll bands, to perform in the Centre’s first international concert to be staged at AsiaWorld-Arena this Saturday, 25 February 2006.

Presented by Lushington Entertainments (HK) Ltd., Oasis will play in Hong Kong in the second leg of its Asian tour this year.
 

Raising the Roof at AsiaWorld-Arena

Oasis is set to raise the roof at the newly launched AsiaWorld-Arena, the biggest purpose-built indoor seated entertainment arena in Hong Kong designed to host sophisticated world-class events ranging from mega-superstar concerts to large scale sporting and entertainment extravaganzas.

In order to facilitate a memorable experience at the Oasis – Live in HK! concert this Saturday, the Centre has put in place the following transportation, catering and logistics arrangements.
 

Transportation to AsiaWorld-Expo Made Easy

Special fares on the Airport Express and MTR
AsiaWorld-Expo, in partnership with the Mass Transit Railway Corporation (MTRC), offers special fares to concert-goers.

Passengers using the same Octopus Cards, taking same-day round-trips and staying for two hours or more at AsiaWorld-Expo will enjoy the following special fares:

Passengers will be charged the full fare for the journey to AsiaWorld-Expo. The credit for the fare discount will be given back on the return journey to the city.

In addition, the MTRC also provides free connections from any MTR station when passengers use their Octopus Cards with usable value and their travel on the MTR and Airport Express is within one hour of each other.

To ensure the quick transportation of large crowds, the Airport Express frequencies will be enhanced and larger capacity trains will be used as and when required. The journey time between Hong Kong Station and the in-venue AsiaWorld-Expo Station is approximately 28 minutes.


Franchised bus service
In addition to the MTR and Airport Express, all “A” buses (A11, A12, A21, A22, A31, A41, A41P, A43) will stop at AsiaWorld-Expo from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Concert-goers can also take S1 and the following “E” buses (E11, E21, E22, E22A, E32, E41) to/from AsiaWorld-Expo.

Five special “X” bus routes will be available from AsiaWorld-Expo to Causeway Bay (via Mongkok), Lam Tin MTR, Tuen Mun (Fu Tai), Shatin (Yu Chui Court) and Mui Wo after the Oasis concert on Saturday.


Taxi service
Visitors can make use of both urban taxis (red) and Lantau taxis (blue) to travel to and from AsiaWorld-Expo. They will be dropped off at the East Entrance of the Centre and there are taxi ranks close to the East Entrance for their return trip.


Private car park
SkyCity Carpark (open air), which is opposite to the Centre’s West Entrance, can accommodate about 1,000 cars. Parking fee is $16 per hour. SkyCity Carpark Enquiry Number is 94084207. On the day of the concert, there will be staff and signage to direct private car drivers and passengers to the AsiaWorld-Arena after they have parked their cars.

AsiaWorld-Expo is working closely with the Transport Department and the Hong Kong Police to ensure efficient and effective transportation means are provided to and from the Centre this Saturday.


Wining and Dining Choices
Concert-goers will find plenty of choices at AsiaWorld-Expo this Saturday when it comes to wining and dining:

  • IKON
    • located on Level 2, is a casual fine dining seaview restaurant that will serve a three-course set dinner at HK$240 or a main course for only HK$140.
  • Caffé Ritazza
    • located at the Upper East Lobby on Level 1, will serve premium Italian coffee, sandwiches, pastries, desserts and popular Asian dishes.
  • The Spotlight Bar
    • located at the Upper East Lobby on Level 1, is a full-service bar that also offers an array of snacks.
  • Eat@AsiaWorld
    • located at the East Lobby of the ground level, is a self- service food outlet that offers sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, rice, noodles and snacks.
  • Eat@Tokyo,
    • ocated at the East Lobby of the ground level, is another self-service food outlet that offers Japanese sushi, ramen, rice and a selection of other hot and cold dishes.

There will also be a number of food and drinks kiosks located around the venue to provide quick and convenient service to visitors.

A Smoke-Free Environment
AsiaWorld-Expo has joined ranks with the global trend of international event centres committed to public health protection and comfort for all users by offering a smoke-free venue.


Protection of Property Rights
Unauthorised recording, filming and photography are prohibited inside the Arena.


Clear Directions
AsiaWorld-Expo has put in place indicative signage and experienced customer service staff to ensure that all visitors can access the Arena and different amenities easily.


Ticket Collection
Concert-goers who have booked tickets through the internet or hotline should pick up their tickets early at the Box Office located on Level 1 adjacent to the Airport Express Exit A so they have ample time to wine and dine at leisure prior to the concert.
