To complement its monumental success as a world-class venue for exhibitions, conferences and events, AsiaWorld-Expo is thrilled to welcome yet another season of chart-topping concerts and spectacular events that promise entertainment for all ages.
The fun kicks off on 10-13 July, when AsiaWorld-Expo proudly hosts Thomas & Friends Live! On Stage. Acclaimed internationally, it's the first time that this vibrant family musical, available in Cantonese and English, is coming to Hong Kong. Together with some kid-oriented game booths, this is an event that no family should miss!
On 25-27 July, animal lovers will be converging at AsiaWorld-Expo for the 3rd Hong Kong International Pet & Aqua Accessory Expo. The biggest event of its kind in Hong Kong, this fascinating event will feature exhibitors from around the world. Visitors can even bring their pets!
For Asia's best concerts, AsiaWorld-Expo and its AsiaWorld-Arena is also the only place to be. This season's summer programme begins on 29 July with multi-platinum, nine-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys, who is visiting Hong Kong as part of her As I Am Tour.
For the first time ever, iconic Scottish rock sensation Travis will perform live in Hong Kong on 31 July. Winner of the Brit Awards "Best British Group" on two separate occasions, this highly acclaimed band is set to rock Hong Kong with much-loved hits as well as songs from its new album, The Boy With No Name.
On 5 August, the inaugural LIVE N' LOUD (Summer Band Festival) kicks off with a great line-up of international acts from Canada, USA and the UK including Simple Plan, One Republic, Lost Prophets, New Found Glory and Jamie Scott and the Town. This mega event is set to become an annual institution and a highlight of Hong Kong's summertime event calendar.
Cult sensation Panic At the Disco will also perform live on 12 August. Since taking the Internet by storm, this talented group of musicians has made pop history on a global scale. Expect a night of high-octane entertainment for this one-night-only performance.
Other upcoming concerts this summer include the Canto-pop eco-concert Safe the Planet 2008 (6 September), the queen of Japanese pop Ayumi Hamasaki (20 September), chart-topping Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit (26-27 September), among many others.
On all concert dates, ticket holders can enjoy shuttle transportation to and from Tai Wai. Alternatively, concert-goers can enjoy direct and convenient links to AsiaWorld-Expo with a round-trip MTR and Airport Express fare of only $42 with Octopus Card, inclusive of MTR transportation to Tsing Yi Station and the Airport Express to AsiaWorld-Expo Station (terms and conditions apply). For all the above-mentioned concert dates, bus services will also be in place to let people get home or continue partying. These services are the X41 to Sha Tin, the X33 to Tuen Mun, the X22 to Lam Tin, the A11 to North Point via Causeway Bay, and the A21 to Tsim Sha Tsui via Mong Kok.
A great variety of restaurants, cafés and bars are available at AsiaWorld-Expo, including IKON Seaview Restaurant (2/F), Caffé Ritazza (1/F), as well as Spotlight Bar (1/F) and two fast-food outlets: [email protected] (G/F) and [email protected] (G/F).
