AsiaWorld-Expo welcomes another two landmark shows to Hong Kong Major international events affirm Hong Kong’s position as one of the world’s top MICE destinations

September is another momentous month at AsiaWorld-Expo, as the venue welcomes two more high-profile events, including the Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress (8-10 September), and the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair (21-25 September) to Hong Kong.

One of the world’s leading aerospace exhibitions, the biannual Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress opened yesterday and brings together practitioners and industry players from around the globe.  The three-day event features around 400 exhibitors, including all the world’s biggest names in aerospace such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) among many others, as well as over 10,000 visitors, more than 3,000 of whom are coming from the Mainland.

This month’s event marks the second consecutive occasion that Asian Aerospace has chosen AsiaWorld-Expo.  It has also announced that it will be returning for a third consecutive year in 2011.

Later in the month, AsiaWorld-Expo will once again play a central role during the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair.  As the world’s biggest event for the jewellery and gem industry, this extraordinary fair is set to attract visitors from around the globe.  Held under the concept of “One Fair, Two Venues” at the two world-class venues in Hong Kong, AsiaWorld-Expo will showcase loose gems, semi-finished products, equipment and packaging.

“The ‘One Fair, Two Venues’ concept enables us to leverage Hong Kong’s existing exhibition space to boost overall utilisation and maximise the efficiency of our public resources,” remarked Allen Ha, Chief Executive Officer, AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited.  “By combining our strengths in this way, we can help accelerate Hong Kong’s economic growth and greatly benefit the local exhibition and conference industry.”

This ability to handle the world’s largest events is well-timed, with AsiaWorld-Expo set to become a focal point of new pan-Pearl River Delta infrastructure.  The upcoming Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Hong Kong-Shenzhen Airport Link will both feature boundary-crossing facilities directly adjacent to AsiaWorld-Expo, providing rapid access to the venue from every major city in China’s industrial and economic heartland.
