The World ’s Number One Fine Jewellery Event – The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair

Overwhelming feedback: 90 percent of exhibition space already booked

The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair has achieved yet another record-breaking feat: as of 12 May 2010, 90 percent of the total 120,000 square metres of exhibition space in the two venues – the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) and the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) – has already been booked. Over 3,100 exhibitors from 44 countries & regions are expected at this year’s edition, the highest participation in the Fair’s history. Over 39,000 trade visitors from 140 countries & regions are expected to come and participate in the world’s number one fine jewellery event.

Many halls already sold out

  • 100 percent of diamond, gemstone and pearl exhibitors have already booked their booths in AWE. This year, the gemstone and pearl section has been expanded to four halls – Halls 3, 6, 8 & 10.
  • The fact that the Fine Gem Pavilion is sold out this early further confirms the success of its debut last year.
  • The Packaging, Tools & Equipment section in Hall 11 of AWE received good feedback from exhibitors at last year’s Fair. All space is already fully booked for 2010, and many companies are on the waiting list.
  • Located in Mezzanine 2 of the HKCEC, the Designer Avenue -- an area dedicated to budding designers -- is fully booked.
  • To give exhibitors in HKCEC a chance to shop for jewellery accessories, some exhibitors of jewellery accessories will be located in Hall 5D of HKCEC, while the rest will be in AWE this year. Exhibitors of jewellery accessories can have the choice being in either the AWE or HKCEC. As of May, this section in both HKCEC and AWE is already fully booked.

Added attractions
  • A group of companies from Afghanistan will make its debut as exhibitors in the September Fair in AWE. The group joins 21 other group pavilions from Antwerp, Brazil, China, Colombia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United States, and the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA).
  • This year, the September Fair again features the largest-ever Diamond Pavilion. In addition to groups from the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the Israel Diamond Institute, a group of diamond exhibitors from the United States and the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India will exhibit in the Diamond Pavilion.
  • India is this edition’s “Pavilion of the Year”. Over 130 Indian exhibitors will showcase a wide range of jewellery and raw materials.
  • Hall 5E of HKCEC sports a new layout. The hall, which houses the Pearl Jewellery & Finished Jewellery section, will showcase fresh water pearl jewellery, gemset jewellery, jadeite jewellery and stainless steel jewellery, from mainly Asian exhibitors.
