AsiaWorld-Expo appoints Rachel Sutton as Arena Director

AsiaWorld-Expo, the new exhibition and event venue at Hong Kong International Airport, today announces the appointment of Mrs Rachel Sutton as Arena Director.

Scheduled to open in December 2005, AsiaWorld-Expo will incorporate Hong Kong's biggest purpose-built, state-of-the-art Arena that can accommodate in excess of 13,500 seats. It can smoothly host concerts, family entertainment, indoor sporting events and conventions. In her new position, Mrs Sutton will be responsible for the overall strategic planning, business development and management of the Arena activities.

Mrs Sutton has impressive credentials in the special events industry. Prior to joining AsiaWorld-Expo, Mrs Sutton worked for The NEC Group (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham, UK for over 14 years, responsible for the group's arenas sales team ¡V The NEC Arena and The NIA(National Indoor Arena) which are the two of the busiest and large-scale venues in Europe. In that role, Mrs Sutton successfully delivered a diverse programme of concerts, family entertainment and major events, including European and World Sporting Championships.

With an impressive seating capacity, the Arena is equipped with a flexible, demountable seating system accommodating in excess of 13,500 seats. With an ultra-high ceiling (19 metres clear height), dimmable audience lighting, the best acoustic equipment, backstage facilities and star dressing rooms, the Arena is the perfect venue for concerts and a host of entertainment and sporting events. First-class catering facilities including fast food outlets, fine dining and VIP/hospitality facilities are also available.
