The excitement begins on 21 February 2012 with the eagerly-awaited concert Evanescence Live in Hong Kong. Having sold close to 25 million albums since their 2003 debut, this multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band has firmly established itself with passionate, operatic vocals and music that can turn on a dime from piano-led introspection to hammering guitar. The band’s concert at AsiaWorld-Expo will also be supported by rock band BUSH, fronted by Gavin Rossdale.
On 3 March one of the world’s most successful boy bands, Westlife, will come to AsiaWorld-Expo for Westlife The Farewell Tour Live In Hong Kong 2012. After a phenomenal career that has spanned 14 years and numerous chart-topping hits, this is the final concert tour before the band splits up. Westlife’s farewell tour has been so well received that all tickets are now sold-out.
On the same night, the venue is honoured to welcome the L'Arc~en~Ciel World Tour 2012 - Hong Kong. One of Japan’s most successful rock bands, L’Arc-en-Ciel has released numerous top hits over the years, including its latest single Kiss Kiss Kiss. The concert at AsiaWorld-Expo is an unforgettable opportunity to rock with the band on its 20th anniversary!
Just one week later, on 10 March, Korea’s hottest boy band 2PM will hold its first-ever concert in Hong Kong, the M Live Concert by CJ / 2PM HANDS UP ASIA TOUR in HONG KONG 2012. With their upbeat lyrics, powerful stage presence and hunky chiselled bodies, 2PM are set to give their Hong Kong fans a night to remember! Indeed, fans are so excited by the concert that all tickets sold-out within days!
Pop legends Duran Duran will perform on 14 March in the Duran Duran “All You Need Is Now” Tour - Live in Hong Kong. On this stunning night, the four original members of Duran Duran – John Taylor, Roger Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Simon Le Bon – will perform their greatest hits as well as songs from their new album All You Need Is Now, produced by the Grammy Award-winning super-fan Mark Ronson and mixed by Spike Stent.
AsiaWorld-Expo is also pleased to be a showcase for Hong Kong’s internationally renowned musical talent.
An array of top Hong Kong artists including Hacken Lee, Sandy Lam, Hins Cheung, William So, Kay Tse and many others will perform in the NOW Mango TV Concert at AsiaWorld-Arena on 11 February.
On 23 March, the venue is thrilled to welcome Asia Music Connection 2012, which is part of a series of concerts to connect Asian cities through music. Designed to foster musical collaboration between each of the host cities, this debut tour uses the theme “Asia Triangle” to bring together the hottest artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Tokyo. This magical experience will feature a great line-up of performers, including Naota Inti Raymi from Japan, G.E.M. from Hong Kong, and Danson Tang and Crowd Lo from Taiwan!
The excitement comes to a spectacular climax in May with the Jacky Cheung 1/2 Century Tour - Hong Kong (18-20, 22-23, 25-27 May). Jacky’s record-breaking 128-show world tour began on 30 December 2010 in Shanghai and includes performances in Las Vegas, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Taiwan, Macau, Beijing and more, with his finale concerts in Hong Kong scheduled to be a truly monumental homecoming celebration. AsiaWorld-Expo is the perfect venue for these fantastic performances, as it’s the only place in Hong Kong that can accommodate Jacky’s elaborate stage design. Don’t miss this musical extravaganza!
