Assistant General Manager, Venue Operations

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of venue operations staff (including duty team) to perform the day-to-day activities of the venue to ensure the venue runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently as well as compliance with all safety rules and regulations
  • Plan, manage and deploy in-house resources, out-sourced security, and transportation to support the events
  • Monitor smooth implementation of company strategy, policies / procedures, and venue house rules
  • Manage and oversee venue related service contracts and monitor performance of the service partners to ensure their performance are up to standard to meet daily operation and event support requirements
  • Manage & handle emergency situations, supervise and ensure proper execution of emergency procedures established by the Company
  • Create and cultivate good relationship with internal and external clients
  • Select, motivate, retain, and develop staff members to meet current and future organizational needs
  • Provide monthly/quarterly reports to senior management regarding the venue operations and financial activity
  • Prepare and manage annual operating budget
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management, Property Management or other related disciplines
  • Minimum 12 - 15 years relevant experience with at least 8 years at managerial level
  • Able to execute and establish holistic venue management plan and strategies based on the market situation and requirements from event organizers
  • Able to work under pressure and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a manner that inspires confidence and trust
  • Strong managerial and good people management skill
  • Self-motivated, open-minded, rational, innovative, and good attention to details and with commitment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and Mandarin is a plus
